Overview
Bucks Harbor is an extremely well-protected and picturesque harbor in famed Eggemoggin Reach in Penobscot Bay, considered by many to be some of the world's best cruising waters. Bucks Harbor was immortalized in Robert McClaskey's book One Morning in Maine and has since changed little in appearance. Sheltered by Harbor Island on one side and dramatic steep bluffs on the other, this "hurricane hole" offers boats protection in any wind. The only commercial center on the harbor is a marina offering provisions and fuel to boaters and the Bucks Harbor Yacht Club. Bucks Harbor real estate includes waterfront properties with fields that sweep to the shore, summer cottages poised at water's edge, and residences on the high cliffs that have spectacular views down Penobscot Bay. Bucks Harbor is part of the village of Brooksville, on the Blue Hill Peninsula.
